Peter Gamoulakos
Toronto, ON / Nov. 14, 1981

Gamoulakos, 37, was found strangled to death in his cab on Sunday, November 15, 1981. The cab was parked in a residential area near the corner of Miranda and Schell avenues, and there was $200 in the victim's pockets. Police believed that he had been killed early on the morning of Saturday the 14th.

Recently separated from his wife and two children, Gamoulakos had driven a taxi for only four months altogether, and three weeks for Metro Cab. He normally drove the night shift until about 3 a.m. The cab was not reported missing, although the dispatcher received a message at 5:47 a.m. Sunday asking to have Gamoulakos return his cab for another driver.

Gamoulakos's death was the first murder of a taxi driver in metropolitan Toronto since Robert Pearson was killed in 1978.
