Leo Henningham
Toronto, ON / July 24, 1990

Henningham was an "independent" (illegal) cab driver. He was beaten to death by a rival "independent" in a dispute over a grocery fare.

When the rival driver grabbed a bag of groceries out of a woman's arms and put them in his trunk, Henningham threw him over the hood of his car, threatened him with a pocket knife and broke three of his teeth with a head butt.

The other driver said he went after Henningham with a bat after Henningham said he was going to get a gun.

The killer was convicted of manslaughter in November, 1991. He was given only three years in consideration of "a great deal of provocation" on the part of Henningham.
