David Malloy
Vancouver, BC / March 17, 1996

Malloy, 44, was originally from San Francisco. He held a Masters degree in Library Science and wrote articles and poetry.

He was attacked on Sunday evening, March 17. Stabbed 23 times (17 times in the back), he died two days later. He told police that his assailant was a young Black man in his 20s.

Another cab driver saw a Black man driving Malloy's cab but gave up pursuit when he would have had to make an illegal turn in front of a police car.

Malloy was survived by his mother, a brother and three sisters.
