Alan William Martin-Macdonald Surrey, BC / March 4, 2000
Martin-Macdonald, 58, was found dying of gunshot wounds outside his cab about 7:30 p.m., near where he had been dispatched to pick up a fare.
In May, 2000 a 29-year-old man was arrested and charged with the shooting deaths of Martin-Macdonald and a 21-year-old student, Kristopher Neeves. The man was also accused of seven cab driver robberies between January and April, 2000.
Martin-Macdonald had three children and several grandchildren. In 1999 his information helped RCMP arrest a violent rapist. In 1994 he was severely beaten by two male fares. Two suspects were charged but acquitted due to failure of an arresting police officer to identify the accused in court.
