Robert McKay Edmonton, AB / March 18, 1959
Robert McKay, 34, was found in his cab with multiple skull fractures that were apparently inflicted by a heavy, blunt instrument. He died in hospital the following day without regaining consciousness. Police were puzzled by the beating, saying that robbery was apparently not the motive.
A few days later a man was arrested in Regina after a routine police check and held overnight for questioning about McKay's murder. The man had no driver's license and his car reportedly contained a bloodstained jacket. He was released the next day after paying a $20 fine.
