Aldéric Proulx
Baie Comeau, QC / November 23, 1974

In the early hours of Saturday, Nov. 23, 1974, Taxi Deluxe driver Aldéric Proulx radioed his dispatcher that he was heading from Baie Comeau to the little town of Chute-Aux-Outardes. Nothing more was heard from him.

When the taxi reached Chute-Aux-Outardes, the killer apparently directed Proulx to a secondary road leading to the Ragenau Road. He then fired three shots into Proulx's head.

Police theorized that the killer panicked after the murder since none of Proulx's money was taken.

Sureté du Québec officers told a reporter for La Côte-Nord that they had a suspect in the case but did not divulge a name. A series of holdups had recently taken place around Baie Comeau and Hautreive and police may have seen a link with Proulx's murder.
