1B. Drivers by Province / Home TownTable 1B-1 groups homicides by province and "Home Town" of the driver (right click on the link to see the table in a new window):
Note: This same list of homicides is sorted by driver name and date in the following tables:
It should be noted that the Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics assigns locations to homicides based on the police jurisdiction where the homicide occurred. Data are published only by province (see Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics). There are two cases in which there is a discrepancy between our "home province" and the CCJS police jurisdiction. Octavio Velasquez was a Montréal driver killed near Arnprior, Ontario. As a result we record his death as a Québec homicide while the CCJS records it as an Ontario homicide. Dorion Simon, based in Flin Flon, Manitoba, was killed in the neighbouring community of Creighton, Saskatchewan. As a result we record his death as a Manitoba homicide while the CCJS records it as a Saskatchewan homicide.
