Data are published only by province (see Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics). There are two cases in which there is a discrepancy between our "home province" and the CCJS police jurisdiction. Octavio Velasquez was a Montréal driver killed near Arnprior, Ontario. As a result we record his death as a Québec homicide while the CCJS records it as an Ontario homicide. Dorion Simon, based in Flin Flon, Manitoba, was killed in the neighbouring community of Creighton, Saskatchewan.
