5F. Statistics Canada Homicide Survey
The Statistics Canada Homicide Survey is a three-part questionnaire designed to collect and analyse data relating to individual homicide cases. The survey is normally completed
by the police officer or officers in charge of the case. Confidentiality restrictions govern access to the data collected.
The Homicide Survey is designed to accommodate all types of homicides, victims and suspects and therefore covers a lot of information not strictly relevant to taxi driver
homicides. It also ignores many topics of particular interest to those studying these homicides.
As a result, although it draws on the Homicide Survey to some extent, the Canadian Taxi Driver Homicides project is more closely related to Charles Rathbone's analysis of U.S.
taxi driver homicides.
