Jean Desraspe

Longueuil taxi driver Jean Desraspe picked up a 19-year-old man in Ville d'Anjou on Oct. 19, 1979. Soon afterward he radioed that his throat had been cut. He died in hospital.

The killer confessed to slashing Mr. Desraspe with a hunting knife belonging to his father. He was sentenced to life without opportunity for parole for 15 years.

The defence claimed that the killer had been terrorized by his father since childhood.
