Mr. Simon, 23, picked up two fares in Flin Flon about 11:30 p.m. and drove them to the neighbouring town of Creighton, SK. Soon afterward he radioed a distress call. Police found him shortly before midnight, slumped in the front seat of his cab. Mr. Simon was stabbed four times in the chest and stomach. He died in Flin Flon General Hospital two hours later. A 17-year-old juvenile and an adult were arrested.

This case is one of three which crossed interprovincial boundaries. The taxi belonging to Montréal driver Mohamed Beyh was found near Cornwall ON and Montréal driver Octavio Velasquez was killed near Arnprior ON.
