Picture (left): Ah! Women cab drivers... Myself, when I'm bored, I spend an hour alone with a woman... for 40 sous!!

Forty sous (two francs) was the legal Paris cab fare per hour.

Xaviar Sager was a prolific comic artist who created some 3,000 postcard designs. In this card he has inscribed the name "L'Urbaine" just below the driver's seat. The Compagnie Urbaine was one of the two largest Paris cab companies. Did they actually employ female drivers, or was this just a flight of fancy on Sager's part?
