Picture (left): A French taxi driver in Paris

This photo of a Black woman taxi driver was taken in the twenties but the first Black woman driver in Paris was a native of Senegal who passed her examination in April, 1910. Her training was sponsored by a group of Paris suffragettes and her photo appeared in newspapers as far afield as Winnipeg.
