Picture (left): Mme. Moser. – A replica of Watteau in 1907: Departure for the Isle of Cythera.

The elegant lady passengers are compared to one of a series of paintings by Watteau depicting splendidly dressed courtiers making a pilgramage to Cythera, the island of love which everyone seeks but few find. Mme. Moser is accompanied by her little dog and a second little dog is ensconced between the two passengers.

This same postcard was also published as number 2151 in the series "Scènes Parisiennes".
