Picture (left): While the customers are amusing themselves, we know how to pass the time.

It was common practice to have cabs wait while the customers shopped, dined at restaurant or went to a show. Drivers were left to pass the time as best they could. The card players are Melle. Vilain, Mme. Véron, Mme. Moser and Mme. Decourcelle.
