[excerpt]

On August 13 1994, London cab driver Freddy Franks took several young Afro-
Carribeans to a rough part of south London. When they arrived, they attacked
him, ripped his jacket and stole his wallet and phone. The result was that
Freddy (three months away from retirement) had a heart attack and died.

After several months, the police finally arrested a single suspect. He was later
found guilty and given THREE MONTHS IMPRISONMENT which he didn't have to serve
as he had been held that long waiting to come to trial. He was released
following the trial.

The judge, in his wisdom, told the Court that he did not believe that the young
offender meant to kill the cab driver.
