Taxi driver found slain in Hiroshima Prefecture

The Yomiuri Shimbun

A taxi driver was found stabbed to death in Mihara, Hiroshima
Prefecture, early Sunday, police said.

Tsuyoshi Fujita was found at about 5:15 a.m. lying in a pool of
blood in a vacant lot in an industrial complex about eight
kilometers from Hiroshima Airport by a newspaper delivery man,
who contacted the police.

Fujita, 52, had been stabbed in the chest several times, the
police said.

Fujita's taxi was found abandoned on a road about a kilometer
from his body.

The company for which Fujita worked said he radioed at about
1:50 a.m. to say he had picked up a man and was heading for
the Nutanishicho district of Mihara, where his body was found.

As Fujita had not returned by 2:30 a.m., the scheduled end of his
shift, the company located his car with the Global Positioning
System, and his coworkers set out to look for him.
