Sun Star (Philippines) August 27, 2007 'Cabbie's death was a payback' By Ruby P. Silubrico THE Anilao Police asserted that taxi driver, Niel Losa, whose dead body was fished out on a grassy area in Barangay Palaypay, Anilao, Iloilo, was killed to repay for his testimonies that resulted to the detention of his killers. The investigators who have already identified the three suspects who shot dead Losa two weeks ago, said a week before the incident, these three persons rode Losa's taxi after robbing an old man with $8,000. The three suspects, who are facing a string of criminal charges in court (one of them has eight pending cases before the Municipal Circuit Trial Court and the other two at the Regional Trial Court), were later on arrested through Losa's testimonial. Losa reportedly received death threats from the three suspects even before they were released from jail. Losa's killers carted away his collections other valuables, before he was killed. The police withheld their names to protect their operation for an arrest.
