Cab Driver Shot And Killed In Boyle Heights
(CBS) BOYLE HEIGHTS A 40-year-old cab driver was shot and killed in Boyle Heights early Saturday, police said.
Miguel Reyes Morales was shot to death by unknown assailants inside his "On Time" cab around 3:45 a.m., according to a Los Angeles Police Department news release.
The taxi ran off the roadway, jumped a curb and crashed into a fence at 532 Sloat Street, a block north of Evergreen Cemetery, police said.
A fellow cab driver drove by and recognized Morales' vehicle and stopped to check on him.
Morales was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
