Cabbie robbed, killed in Binondo

A 25-year-old tax driver was killed a few hours after he was stabbed 
by holdup men in Binondo, Manila, Monday morning.

Slain was Priel Salvadico, married, taxi driver of RBE taxi and 
resident of Barangay 123, Road 10, Marcos Highway, Tondo, Manila. 
Lawmen have yet to identify the assailants.

He died while being treated at the Gat Andres Bonifacio Hospital due 
to a stab wound in the body.

Detective Edmundo Cabal, of the Manila Police District (MPD)-homicide 
section, said the holdup occurred at 2 a.m. at the Parola Compound 
near corner Del Pan St., Binondo, Manila.

The victim was driving his taxi when unidentified men posing as 
passengers flagged him down. The robbers declared a holdup and 
stabbed the victim.

Although wounded, the victim continued driving towards the direction 
of Zaragoza and smashed into an electric post.

The robbers then carted away his earnings of an undetermined amount 
and fled to an unknown direction.

Residents brought the victim to the hospital where he died.
