Indian taxi driver shot dead in U.S.

WASHINGTON, FEB. 2. An Indian taxi driver has been shot dead while driving in neighbouring Maryland State, a second cab driver to be killed in the same area in the past six weeks.

No arrests have been made in this connection. Police say robbery could be the motive behind the murder. The victim is survived by his wife and a son.

The Prince George county police received a call about a car accident in Donnel place in Forestville, Maryland last night. When they reached the spot, they found the body of the victim, Jasbir Rajpal Singh, 46, with bullet injuries. He was declared dead on the spot. The victim belonged to Alexmandria and was an employee of the yellow cab company.

The police found a black base baseball cap in the front and three skulls at the rear of the car. Investigators believe that the gunman may have left the cap in the taxi at the time of the attack. Police said after Rajpal Singh was shot, the cab he was driving struck another vehicles and then crashed into an iron fence.
