Dear Sir/Madam

TAXI DRIVER SURVEY

In February 1993, the Minister for Roads and Ports established a Taxi Driver Safety Committee which is convened by the Victorian Taxi Directorate. The Committee's primary role is to research, develop and implement measures to improve safety for taxi drivers and their passengers.

As part of the broader package of measures to improve driver safety, the Committee is inviting all taxi drivers to become personally involved by commenting on measures that could be considered to improve safety in taxis. The attached survey has been sent to all commercial passenger vehicle driver certificate holders, some of whom may not drive taxis.

If you drive taxis part or full turned, could you please spend a few minutes completing the survey.

Please complete the attached survey and return it in the reusable envelope supplied, no later than 30 August 1996. You do not need to attach a stamp to the envelope.

Your views wilt remain anonymous because you do not need to return this coversheet and your name and address is not required on the survey form.

The Taxi Driver Safety Committee appreciates your involvement in this project.

Yours sincerely
