New Postage Stamp

Issued by the United States Postal Service

Charles Rathbone says:

The new taxi postage stamp issued by the US Postal Service is actually part of a set of Antique Toy stamps. The vehicles are from the collection of the Strong Museum.

It took my most powerful magnifying glass to make out the logo on the tiny taxi's rear door, but sure enough it says "American Yellow Taxi." It's a wonderful old vehicle, maybe 1920s vintage, with a driver in cap and livery.

Many thanks to Joni Hansen, Tara Housman and Charles Rathbone for their help in assembling this display.
