Les Femmes Cocher / 155
A Cocher Miscellany / 22
Picture (left): Fourchambault. Cavalcade of May 17, 1908. The woman cab driver Fourchambault is a small town about 255 km southeast of Paris. In May, 1908 it was the site of a major agricultural fair and this is one of several postcards commemorating the event. Since it is rather unlikely that the couple in the cab drove all the way from Paris, this postcard suggests that the femmes cocher phenomenon had spread to other parts of France.
