The Cab Hold-Up Affair
By Norman Beattie
Early in the morning of March 26, 1908 three young men hijacked a Chicago horse cab and used it to carry out a series of muggings.
Their spree began at a downtown hotel and ended in an exclusive residential neighbourhood where a dead body was found inside the abandoned cab.
The case became known as "the cab hold-up affair."
